If it has one tail-fin, it is probably a common/comet and needs at least 55-75 gallons (really, they should just be in ponds) but if it's kinda short-bodied and has two tail-fins then it's a fancy breed (of one kind or another, there are plenty) and will need at least 20-30 gallons.
